Oh, hello there!

Welcome to my little sanctuary of Zen Essence. I’m so glad you’re here so that I can share with you my love for a natural lifestyle, navigating the ups and downs of life as a mother, cooking from the heart, and on my own journey of making choices towards a more healthy and fulfilling life.

We got this!

Hello, my name is Hien. I’m a stay-at-home mum with two kiddos aged 1 and 3, and wife to my wonderful husband, Dusty, who is as geeky and nerdy as they come (think Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR…).

I don’t have a PhD in biomedical science, I’m a mum sharing my journey of how we manage our family and home through essential oils to make life easier and hope to give my children the high quality life all kids deserve.

So, why have I fallen in love with essential oils?

I started my journey with essential oils to support my family’s health and wellness after my first born arrived. Like so many new mums, I struggled with sleep deprivation (hello 45 min cycles or less!), and I wasn’t taking care of myself.  With the health of a new human suddenly front of mind, I started to worry about the chemicals that I was using in my home, and started looking for alternatives. All I wanted was to be a good mum.

Sharing my concerns with other women, a friend introduced me to two essential oils; Lavender and On Guard. That moment was life changing, and I am so grateful to Allie Starbuck and all the other incredible women who helped me discover the beneficial properties of essential oils.  I wish I had known about these natural alternatives sooner.

I began using essential oils in my everyday life and through my experimentation I’ve been able to reduce our toxic load and their harmful effects. I’ve switched out chemical products with natural homemade sprays to clean the house, shower sprays, kitchen scrub, mould cleaner, air fresheners, hand washers. I’ve also made natural chesty cough rubs, salves for nappy rashes to provide relief to sensitive bottoms – you name it, my DIY essential oil toolbelt has come to the rescue.

I passionately believe that a natural, low-tox lifestyle begins with a drop of essential oil. Join me to embrace the adventure and let’s connect.

The brand I trust

Think empowered

The energy and support around every wellness advocate representing the company and the passion to help me learn and grow was unlike anything I experienced with the other companies. How many companies can you say have empowered you to take control of your family’s health and well-being? Being empowered in a community, full of strong women and men has been a blessing. It takes just a drop and you’ll be saying ‘I’ve got an oil for that’ solving 9 out of 10 of your day to day problems.

Think quality

Choosing essential oils gently and carefully distilled from plants that have been patiently harvested at the perfect moment by experienced growers from around the world for ideal extract composition and efficacy. Each doTERRA essential oil is also carefully and thoroughly tested using the strict CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® quality protocol. Experienced essential oil users will immediately recognise the superior quality standard for naturally safe, purely effective therapeutic-grade essential oils.

Think ethical

Using the co-impact sourcing model, doTERRA works to improve the lives of those living in the communities where they source the essential oils. A lot of the oils are sourced in developing countries because this is where the oil thrives best in its organic state. doTERRA ensures that these communities receive fair and timely payments for their work so that these farmers can support their family and continue to source these amazing oils.
